About the Workshop
This workshop will introduce students to the basic skills used in leather work, allowing you to create your very own leather sunglasses case. Suitable for beginners, the class will cover skills such as cutting and stitching leather.
The workshop is designed to equip you with the basic skills necessary for you to continue developing the craft of leather work. It will be taught using a hands-on approach, with advice and guidance throughout, using a variety of teaching methods including demonstration, instructions and one-to-one support to guide you through the techniques.
Students will gain the following skills:
- Learn about different types of leathers and what uses they can be put to
- Learn about the basic hand-tools used in leather work and how they’re used
- Learn how to cut simple patterns
- Learn to hand stitch leather with needles
- Learn simple techniques used in leather work
And you’ll come away with your own sunglasses case!
What’s included in the price?
Materials are provided within reasonable use limits. Tools are available for students to borrow on the course, or feel free to bring your own. Tea and coffee will be provided.
