The first Somerset Local Entrepreneur Forum organised by the Red Brick Building and Reimagining the Levels was a great success!
Held on 25th April and supported and facilitated by Jay Tompt and Hal Gillmore from REconomy Centre in Totnes, the event saw seven small businesses and organisations pitch for support. These included:
- Plotgate CSA, looking for support to develop low impact farming tools
- Bengrove Market Garden to develop a medicinal herb garden
- Tinker’s Bubble for apple pressing and bottling equipment to meet food hygiene requirements
- We also heard from B.U. pop up shop; Baltonsborough Village Shop; Red Brick Books and Somerset Local Food.
Over £3,500 was offered to these entrepreneurs on the day from a variety of people and with lots of other offers of help from the Community of Dragons in the room including marketing, business planning advice and funding advice as well as loans of equipment and more.
Feedback from the event has included remarks such as ‘What a thoroughly inspiring day!‘ and ‘Such a successful event…..amazingly positive.‘ A couple of the entrepreneurs said they were ‘overwhelmed‘ by the level of support they received.
