In aid of Glastonbury charity Children’s World
Folk rock singer, Lavinia Blackwall, performs live at the Red Brick Building with her band Stilton.
Lavinia’s recent successful single ‘Troublemakers’ was included by Radio 6’s Marc Riley on his ‘Best of 2019’ list.
In this special addition to her UK tour, the Glasgow-based performer, previously of the group Trembling Bells, will be performing solo material described as, “A mixture of wistful longing, joyful exuberance, wheeling psychedelia and classic song writing.”
Lavinia Blackwall spoke about how her experience as a primary school teacher led to her supporting Children’s World chairty, “I am supporting Children’s World, because they enable children to experience fun, educational activities, whatever their needs and promote inclusivity for all. There should be more provision for this type of thing in mainstream education. As a teacher in a primary school I am aware of the growing amount of children with additional support needs and learning difficulties. A more play based approach is essential in enabling all children to access education.”
Opening up the evening is popular young local singer-songwriter and MC, Amber Chapman.
