Can entheogens heal where pharmaceuticals have failed?

Thursday 13th June

From Shock To Awe

Running time: 87 mins

Synopsis: How do we heal our deepest wounds? An intimate and raw look at the transformational journey of two combat veterans suffering from severe trauma as they abandon pharmaceuticals to seek relief through the mind-expanding world of psychedelics. Recent scientific research coupled with a psychedelic renaissance reveals that these substances can be used to heal PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) for individuals and their families. Beyond the personal stories, From Shock to Awe also raises fundamental questions about war, the pharmaceutical industry, and the US legal system. The documentary centers on veterans, Matt Kahl and Mike Cooley, and their challenging post-war lives, lives shattered by the trauma of war. They struggle with anxiety, fear, depression, anger, and an overall inability to find an equilibrium in society and with their families. After confronting death multiple times, our heroes set out on a journey of the human spirit.

Tickets: £7.50

Doors: open at 7.30pm, screening starts at 8.00pm

An augmented cinema experience

A series of six film screenings exploring the use of plant medicines and entheogens in medicine as alternatives to pharmaceutical treatments.

As the cost of healthcare and pharmaceutical medicine increases, many are looking to alternatives for healing. In the face of a mental health crisis, how can entheogens assist with healing the scars that can’t be seen?

Our aim is to educate, to show the benefits and dangers inherent in using entheogens for medical treatment.
