Do you want to write but don’t know where to start?

Are you a writer who would like to meet with like-minded people and develop your craft?

Join published author, Alison Rose Knight, at one of her FREE TASTER SESSIONS at the Red Brick Building as we start a new page in the RBB’s story.

The sessions will be based on Alison’s Who? What? Where? When? Workshops, looking at:

  • Who will you write about? – Characters real and fictional
  • What will you write? – novels, short stories, flash fiction, blogs, poems, and so on
  • Where will your writing be set? – developing and describing settings
  • When will your story be set? – writing about different times, seasons and eras.

There will be discussions about these topics with examples and a number of short writing exercises throughout the sessions. Participants will be encouraged to join in the discussions and to share their work, but there will be no obligation to do so – the aim is to spark the imagination, not to force anyone to do anything that makes them feel uncomfortable.

Although sessions are free, we are asking people to book a place so that we can prepare the right amount of materials for each workshop. Please email Alison to secure your place.

We will also ask for a donation to RBB to help cover room costs. The sessions are open to all ages and abilities. Alison has experience of teaching students from early teens to late seventies.

Each participant needs to bring a notepad and something to write with, or a laptop.
